Meet Matt

Matthew C. Plourde joined SPC Financial® (SPC) in 2021 as a Client Service Associate and is currently a member of SPC's Operations team. Matt enrolled in the University of Virginia’s CFP® Certification Education Program, which he completed in December 2021. His next step will be to sit for the CFP® examination. Matt earned a B.S. degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). He also earned a Certificate of Completion in Culinary/Bakery and Pastry Arts from IUP Academy of Culinary Arts.

In addition to his passion for financial planning, Matt has a passion for pastry! Prior to pursuing a career as a CFP®, he had more than 5 years of experience working as a pastry chef for several notable hotels in Washington, D.C. and Charlottesville, Virginia. Matt infuses the discipline required of a pastry chef into his daily client interactions.

Matt currently resides in Bethesda, Maryland. He is an avid cyclist and can be found riding in all kinds of weather. He also enjoys dancing Lindy Hop, photography, tabletop RPGs, and is an avid animal lover.
