William G. Chatfield (Greg) began his career with SPC Financial® (SPC) in 1983. Greg has been instrumental in building the infrastructure of the client data management systems as well as transitioning the firm’s initial financial planning program to its current “State of The Art” system. Greg, is also trained and well versed in financial planning techniques, tax planning and investment management services. Greg serves on the SPC Board of Directors and is a corporate officer.

Greg continues to expand his knowledge of portfolio management with an emphasis on technical analysis. He is a member of the Market Technicians Association (MTA) and is currently enrolled in the Chartered Market Technician Program having successfully completed the first two levels of the three-level program. While continuing to hone his analytical skills and knowledge, he works closely with the advisors of SPC in managing clients’ personal stock portfolios.

Mr. Chatfield earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional certification in May of 1989. He also maintains a Life and Health Insurance license.

Along with his financial interests, he is a licensed soccer coach who coached youth and high school aged players for 12 years in Frederick, Maryland. Greg has also remained active by running road races. Most memorable were the 10 marathons including the Marine Corp (personal best time 3:00:43), Boston Marathon (3 times including the 100th running) and the Antarctica Marathon, where he finished 4th, raising enough money to fulfill a wish through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, for a young lady fighting a battle with cancer. Never backing down from a challenge he added an ultra-marathon to the list completing the 50th JFK 50 Miler the year he turned 50. Nowadays Greg appreciates time spent with family and more leisurely hobbies like golf with his son and exploring the open road on his Harley with his wife.

A lifetime Maryland resident, Greg is married to his wife Carol with two adult children.
